You’ll explore the different types of hives commonly used by beekeepers, including their structure, advantages, and how to choose the right one for your needs and environment. We’ll also walk you through the essential equipment every beekeeper needs—from protective clothing and tools to hive components—explaining how each item is used and why it matters.
Beyond equipment, the course covers the fundamentals of beekeeping. You’ll learn about bee behavior, colony structure, seasonal hive management, and how to safely inspect and care for your bees. We’ll also touch on honey production, basic hive maintenance, and how to keep your colony healthy.
To bring your learning to life, you’ll also get hands-on experience. We’ll suit you up in full beekeeping gear and take you out to observe a real colony, giving you the chance to see inside a hive and experience bees up close in a safe, guided environment.
